Building a form

How do I add a question?
Click a question in the Questions panel on the left, or drag it onto the canvas. On a phone, open the panel with the Questions button above the canvas.
How do I reorder, duplicate or delete a question?
Select a question and use the toolbar that appears above it. Keyboard: Alt+Up or Alt+Down moves it, Delete removes it, Ctrl+Z undoes.
Does it save automatically?
Yes. The stamp in the toolbar shows Saving, Saved or Unsaved. Press Ctrl+S or click the stamp to save right away. Use the Preview switch above the canvas to see the form as respondents will.
What does the AI draft do?
Describe the form you need and the draft appears in the builder as ordinary questions you can edit. AI features are part of the AI Pro plan.

Publishing and sharing

What happens when I publish?
The share link starts accepting responses and the questions lock. Take it offline from the responses page, the row menu on Your forms, or Settings to edit again. Responses are kept.
Where is the share link?
On the form's page under the response counts, in Settings, and in the row menu on Your forms.
Can I limit people to one response, or close the form on a date?
Yes. Both are in Settings under Who can respond. One-per-person uses a browser cookie, so it deters repeats rather than guaranteeing them.

Building a website

How do I make a site?
Open Sites, click New site, pick a starting point and a look. The editor opens on your home page. Click any text on the page to type over it; click a section to change its pictures, links and colours in the panel on the right.
How do I add, move or remove sections?
Drag a section from the Add panel onto the page, or click it to add it below the one you've selected. Hover a section for its toolbar: drag the handle to move it, or use the arrows, duplicate and delete. Ctrl+Z undoes anything.
Can I put one of my forms on a page?
Yes. Add a Form section and choose the form. Visitors fill it in on your site, and responses, payments and stock land in Formify as usual. The form needs to be published to take responses.
When do visitors see my changes?
Edits save as you go but stay private until you press Publish. Use the eye button to preview the page with your changes first. Name, search text and icons in Settings go live straight away.
Can I undo changes or go back to an older version?
Yes. Open History in the editor: every publish is kept under Past versions, and you can save one yourself any time. Preview any of them, go back to one (then publish), or put one live straight away. Formify also saves automatically before you go back, so that can be undone too.
Can I try bigger changes without touching my live site?
Yes, with a copy. In History, choose Make a copy and give it a name, like Winter menu. Edit the copy as much as you like while visitors keep seeing your site as it is. Share a preview link with someone for feedback, then press Move to main site. If a page was also changed on the main site since, you choose which one to keep.
Can I use my own domain?
On Pro and AI Pro. Open the site's Settings, add the domain, then add the DNS records shown at the company you bought the domain from. Formify keeps checking and sets up the secure certificate once the records are in place. Changes can take up to 48 hours to spread.

Reading and exporting responses

Where do responses show up?
Open a form from Your forms. Responses update live as they arrive. Search answers, a response number or a discount code, filter by payment, and click a row to see every answer with its payment breakdown. The Summary tab charts each question; the Stock tab appears when products track stock.
Why is the amount lower than what the respondent paid?
The responses page shows what you receive: the amount charged, less Formify's fee and Stripe's card fee. Stripe's exact fee appears once Stripe reports it; until then it's an estimate. Open a response to see the full breakdown.
Can I refund or mark cash orders paid?
Yes. Open the response: card payments have Refund (the full amount, with Formify's fee returned to you), and cash orders have Mark cash as paid. Select several rows to mark cash orders paid or delete them in one go.
How do I export?
Use Export on the responses page for Excel, CSV or a PDF table. Exports are safe to open in spreadsheets: cells that look like formulas are neutralised.

Payments and stock

How do I take payments?
Add a Product or Fee question, then connect a Stripe account under Sales, then Payouts. Respondents pay through Stripe after submitting and the money goes to your account.
Can I publish a priced form without Stripe?
Yes. Until Stripe is connected, respondents can only choose to pay in person (cash) and you mark those orders paid on the responses page. Connect Stripe any time to add card payments.
How do discount codes work?
Make a code under Sales, then Discount codes: a percentage or fixed amount, for one form or all of them, with optional minimum order, use limit and dates. A “Have a discount code?” link appears on your priced forms while a code is live. Discounts come off the listed price before fees.
Can I send invoices?
Yes. Under Sales, then Invoices, design an invoice right on the page: click any text to change it, pick a layout, colour and typeface, and add your logo. Send gives you a link your customer can print, save as PDF or pay by card (when Stripe is connected). You can also create an invoice or receipt from any order on the responses page.
How does stock work?
Turn on stock for a product and set the quantity. Stock is reserved the moment a response is submitted, so two people can't buy the last item.

Account and billing

How do I change plan or cancel?
Go to Billing. Switch plans, cancel or resume, add a promo code and download invoices there; Change card opens Stripe's secure page.
What are AI credits?
AI drafting, rewriting and checks use credits and come with AI Pro, which includes a monthly allowance that refreshes on the 1st. If you run out, buy a pack on the Billing page: bought credits never expire and are only used after the month's allowance. How many credits a request uses follows what it costs to run: bigger jobs like drafting a whole form use more than a quick rewrite. If an AI request fails, its credits are returned.
Can I get notified on my phone?
Yes. Under Settings, then Account, turn on push notifications on each device you want alerts on, and pick which events matter: new responses, orders and payments, invoices paid, low stock, forms closing soon and review results.
I forgot my password.
